Cold Filtered and their brand of brash, melodic hard rock has made the group one of the most popular local rock acts of the new millennium. Based in Des Moines, Iowa their music crosses the boundaries of being fun "party" rock (reminiscent of 1980's hair metal bands like KISS, Motley Crue, etc.). And yet they achieve a modern sound and have much more thoughtful lyrical content than their 80's predecessors.  Their music is clearly influenced by classic hard rock bands such as AC/DC and Guns n Roses, but their songs will also remind you of the newer style music put forward by bands such as Staind, Puddle of Mud, and Godsmack.

Not many Bands in Iowa can match Cold Filtered’s resume. Cold Filtered opened Waterstock Rock 2004 and 2005 and won the approval of the 13,000 fans in attendance at those two shows. In fact the Des Moines Register gave CF the titles of “Winners of the Day” and “Hardest Working Band” in their reviews of Waterstock Rock. CF has played with numerous national acts including: Jackyl (twice), Slaughter, Firehouse, Winger, La Guns, Warrant, Skid Row, Foreigner, Great White (twice), Bret Michaels of Poison and even opened for Ted Nugent at a packed Val Air Ballroom on March 9, 2005.

The band’s debut CD "Bringin’ It Back" was release in June of 2005. With songs like “End of the Line”, “Freeway”, “Pure”, “Vicious Circle” and “Too Far Away” this long awaited CD is doing very well.
 

The songs in Cold Filtered's covers set list are chosen for their popularity with folks who enjoy "classic hard rock" such as AC/DC, Guns and Roses, and Metallica - but you can also still dance to most of their songs.  Cold Filtered's main goals for their live performances are to provide a fun, party atmosphere for the audience - while delivering old school kick-ass rock with a modern sound.
